Opportunity Information: Apply for F25AS00265

The Fiscal Year 2025 Tribal Wildlife Grants (TWG) Program, under funding opportunity F25AS00265, offers financial and technical support to federally recognized Tribes to develop and carry out projects that benefit fish, wildlife, and their habitats. The grant funding can be used to conserve any plant or animal species that a Tribe identifies as significant, including those with cultural or traditional importance.

Eligible activities include habitat conservation planning, wildlife research, population monitoring, conservation education, habitat mapping, protection, and enhancement. Funds may cover costs such as salaries, equipment, consultant services, travel, and materials.

Only federally recognized Tribes listed in the most recent Federal Register (December 11, 2024) are eligible to apply. Tribes must be current on all reporting obligations from previous TWG awards to qualify for new funding. If reports are overdue, the Tribe has 30 days to submit them after notification or risk being disqualified for the FY 2025 cycle.

There is no limit to how many applications a Tribe may submit, but total federal funding for a single Tribe cannot exceed $200,000 in a fiscal year. If multiple applications exceed this cap, only the highest-scoring project(s) will be considered. Other organizations may participate as subrecipients but must adhere to the same program requirements. Grant funds cannot be used to acquire real property interests.
